BODY CARE

HYPERPIGMENTATION

Images

Instead of using over-the-counter chemical bleaching agents to deal with hyperpigmentation, why not take care of it naturally? Caused by the over-secretion of natural skin pigment these dark spots are typically purely cosmetic and can be triggered by sun exposure, hormone imbalance, vitamin and mineral deficiency, and stress. If they’re present all over your body, be sure to have your doctor rule out an underlying problem.

Turmeric Facial

YIELD: 1 TREATMENT
STORAGE: NOT RECOMMENDED
TIME: 20 MINUTES

You might know turmeric as one of the spices that gives Indian dishes their signature flavor. This herb also helps to even out skin tone. The downside is that it increases sun sensitivity for a few days after treatment. Be vigilant with sunscreen to prevent burns.

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon full-fat powdered milk

3 teaspoons honey

1.In a small dish, add the turmeric, powdered milk, and honey. Using a whisk or fork, stir until blended.

2.With a circular motion, gently scrub your face and other areas affected by hyperpigmentation.

3.After scrubbing, leave the treatment in place for 15 minutes.

4.Rinse your face. Follow up with your favorite cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

5.Use 3 times weekly until spots have faded.
