Hyssop–Peppermint Tea

TIME: 15 MINUTES

When hyssop and peppermint team up, nerves and stress don’t last long. This fragrant blend also happens to be a secret weapon against cold and flu symptoms.

1 teaspoon dried hyssop leaves, crumbled

1 teaspoon dried peppermint leaves, crumbled

1 cup boiling water

Honey or stevia (optional)

1.Place the hyssop and peppermint leaves in a tea ball or infuser. In a mug filled with boiling water add the tea ball, and honey or stevia, if desired.

2.Steep for 15 minutes.

3.Drink hot or iced as often as you like.

Lavender–St. John’s Wort Smelling Salt

YIELD: 1 OUNCE
STORAGE: SMALL GLASS JAR
TIME: 2 MINUTES

When anxiety has got you down, lavender and St. John’s wort can lift your spirits back up. This ultra-relaxing blend also brings calm and focus when your thoughts are racing.

1 ounce coarse sea salt

20 drops lavender essential oil

2 drops St. John’s wort essential oil

1.In a small glass jar, combine the salt, and lavender and St. John’s wort essential oils.

2.Cap tightly and shake well to blend.

3.Inhale deeply for 20 seconds.

4.Use this blend as often as you like. Refresh it with more essential oil when the fragrance begins to fade.

Valerian Infusion

YIELD: 1 CUP
STORAGE: NOT RECOMMENDED
TIME: 15 MINUTES

Valerian helps ease anxiety while promoting deep relaxation. This tea is powerful, so enjoy it when you have time to unwind.

1 teaspoon dried peppermint, crumbled

1 teaspoon dried valerian root, chopped

1¼ cups water

Raw honey or stevia (optional)

1.In a small saucepan, combine the peppermint, valerian root, and water.

2.Bring to a boil.

3.Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the herbs to simmer for 10 minutes.

4.Remove from the heat and strain into a mug.

5.Sweeten with raw honey or stevia, if desired.

6.Drink while relaxing. Do not use before driving or undertaking other tasks that require high levels of concentration.
