With no harmful side effects or morning grogginess, they ease you off to slumber gently, keep you asleep, and leave you feeling refreshed when you wake.

Valerian–Hops Tea with Passionflower

YIELD: 1 CUP
STORAGE: NOT RECOMMENDED
TIME: 15 MINUTES

Valerian, hops, and passionflower combine to promote calm, bring deep, restful sleep, and minimize tossing and turning.

1 teaspoon dried hops, crushed

1 teaspoon dried passionflower

1 teaspoon dried valerian

1¼ cups water

Honey or stevia (optional)

1.In a small saucepan, add the hops, passionflower, and valerian to the water. Bring to a boil.

2.Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the herbs for 10 minutes.

3.Strain into a mug, using the back of a spoon to press the liquid from the herbs before discarding them.

4.Sweeten with honey or stevia, if desired.

5.Drink this tea about 15 minutes before bedtime as often as needed.

Soothing Chamomile–Lavender Bath Salt

Wash off the stress of the day, relax your body, and prepare your mind for sleep with this fragrant spa treatment. Bathe 1 to 2 hours before bed for best results.

1 cup Epsom salt

5 drops lavender essential oil

3 drops chamomile essential oil

1.Draw a warm bath.

2.Add the Epsom salt and let it dissolve.

3.Add the lavender and chamomile essential oils.

4.Spend 15 to 30 minutes soaking in the tub.

Herbal Bedtime Tea Blend

YIELD: ABOUT 4 CUPS DRIED HERBAL BLEND
STORAGE: AIRTIGHT CONTAINER
TIME: 15 MINUTES

A potent blend that balances the body while inducing restful sleep, this relaxing bedtime tea has a pleasant flavor that most people enjoy.

1½ cups dried chamomile flowers

1 cup dried lemon balm, crushed

½ cup dried catnip, crushed

½ cup dried oat straw

½ cup dried passionflowers

¼ cup dried hops, crushed

Honey or stevia (optional)

1.In an airtight container, combine all the herbs.

2.To brew the tea, use 1 tablespoon of the herbal blend per cup, and place in a tea ball or infuser.

3.In a mug, pour boiling water over the herbs and steep for 15 minutes.

4.Sweeten with honey or stevia, if desired.

5.Drink 1 cup of this tea each night before bed. Store in a cool, dry place.
