PREGNANCY SUMMARY

Protamine is used to neutralize the anticoagulant effect of heparin. No reports of its use in pregnancy have been located. Reproduction studies in animals have not been conducted (1).

BREASTFEEDING SUMMARY

No reports describing the use of protamine during human lactation have been located. Such reports are unlikely due to its indication.
